Description:The Town has an agreement with the Development Authority of the North Country (DANC) for operation and maintenance of the Newton Falls Wastewater District.
DANC works very closely with the Town on system operations and provides additional services as directed by the designated Town Representative.
Responsibilities:
Daily Services:
Visually inspects the water treatment systems; inspects and examins all mechanical, electrical equipment and piping for proper operation; completes daily logs sheets documenting specific checks, pressures, flow and run times.
Monthly Services:
Greases/oils equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations; prepares monthly operations report; completes NYSDOH reports; collects and submits samples for analysis.
Annual Services:
Exercises valves, verifies operation and flush system components as required; tests/verifies alarms are functional.
The Town Highway is responsible for all snow removal in the wintr and does any digging that may be necessary for checking/working on lines and pumps.
